LLATL Placement Tests

Placement Tests are provided to help you assess your student’s skill level. In addition, viewing the scope and sequence and sample lessons of the various grade levels will assist you in the placement of your student. While there is flexibility, we advise staying at your child’s grade level unless there is some extraordinary reason not to do so.

Orange, Purple, and Tan Book Study Reading Guides

While most of the levels of Learning Language Arts Through Literature include book studies as part of the 36 weekly lessons, the Orange, Purple, and Tan books are an exception. The Orange Book schedules one week for the book study, but some readers may like having a little more time. The Purple and Tan book studies are supplemental to the course instead of being worked into the 36 weeks. We’ve created guides that are meant to assist you as you divide up these book studies.

Book Updates and Corrections

These mainly apply to the early editions of the 3rd edition Learning Language Arts Through Literature books printed in 2017. Minor typos that do not affect the use of the book are not listed. Books with later print dates reflect these changes.
