Interspersed among the lessons in each Learning
Language Arts Through Literature book you will find
assessments. Easy-to-use and administer, these tools help you assess
the progress of your student. The goal of the assessments is to obtain
information about your student’s progress in order to determine how
you, the teacher, can better assist your student.
We have included here online the first and last
assessment in each book** in order to help you decide where to place
your student within the series. Begin evaluation using the assessments
for the current grade level of your student. Proceed, moving forward
or backward in grade levels, until you determine the best placement
for your student. In addition, viewing the
Scope and Sequence and sample
lessons at the various grade levels will assist you in the
placement of your student.
**The assessments included in The Gold Book -
American Literature and The Gold Book - British
Literature are based on writing assignments therefore not
included here.
